Oh, they say Patience is a virtue. In fact, yes, it is one of the most tender fruits of the spirit who wants to have to practice. It is a reality of life and shaping one’s character so we truly shine in the fulness.
The fruit of the spirit that may be the tough one. Who wants to practice patience with such a fast fix world it seems most enjoy to live in.
We have all heard this saying before. Patience is a key to success. It’s one thing to be patient when waiting for your coffee at the shop, or waiting for a new scarf to launch? (ha) But what about patience in reaching life goals and dreams?
But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently. It’s easy to get caught up in the next thing and always be striving to move forward. This is absolutely a good thing. But many of us get frustrated waiting for plans to unfold, for progress to be made, because you must remember now it’s a marathon, not a sprint! If we could all get there quickly, we all would.
Those of you who know me, Cydney. Well patience is something I have been learning over the years. I am terrible at waiting, but it’s defiantly been something God has been working on in me over the years.
What matters is that we remain consistent, concise and confident. Patience will win out in the end. When we embrace the long game, buckle ourselves down for the grind and the journey, that’s when we really see the results. It is easier said then done. Anyone agree?
How many of you have made a goal to work on health? You start the plan and do great for the first week. But something comes to bump your buttons or you have something weigh you down and then you find yourself back in the wrong mindset because you don’t see results. If you are working towards a goal and don’t see results right away? Keep doing it! They say it can take up to 21 days to make something a habit and about 90 days for something to stick and start driving results. Gosh that seems like a long time. This is the same with our personal and professional goals. We need to make sure our plans and systems are in good shape and KEEP GOING. We won’t see results right away and we need to be ok with that! Be patient and consistent. Do not throw away your confidence it will be richly rewarded!
Sometimes it can take weeks, months or even years for progress to really show from the work you’ve put in. Remember in this journey, there is always a grace if we ask. When we think we are in such a hurry don’t forget that this patience you are learning, longsuffering, endurance is also forging a magnificent character in you.
Never quit on one of the tough days. These are the days you may need to call a good friend to remind you of just how far you have come, and that those dreams will be obtained. Giving up before you’ve really tried everything, or more importantly before you’ve let your plans reach fruition, is why many goals don’t get reached. So, remember, patience is a virtue, it’s a very fruit of the spirit. It already is part of who you are, we just need to exercise it. Set your goal, create your action plan, identify what realistically it will look like. Just take one day at a time, and keep your eyes on the prize! Create vision boards, reminders, pictures things that will encourage you along the journey. There will be great surprises for you along the way. You must always find the treasure in every season of endurance.
My personal tips for those who need some encouragement how to practice patience are this:
#1 Ask God for grace, grace and more grace. He has so much grace to give you it will never stop running out. Ask for grace for self-control (it’s a hard one), to be able to control our own reactions to the situation, and endure it without complaint; ask for grace for humility, to accept that you are no more important than anyone else, and there is no particular reason why you should not wait; and. Lastly take your eyes off yourself- sorry to break it to you, but its not always about you! Sometimes we are way too self-focused and forget that if we take our eyes off ourselves and our own situations, the second we start to pour into another your heart will shift! Go and be generous and serve someone else, serve someone else’s vision and dream and watch yours fall to place! Go and smile at the world. Clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.
So not now I leave you with this, the reality is sometimes it seems long the wait, but then the seasons change! This scarf I designed as a VAVOOM reminder patience may endure for a while- but then the seasons change and JOY COMES IN THE MORNING- Next thing you are saying is this, WOW, THINGSCAN HAPPEN QUICKLY! The wait was not that bad, and look at all of the wonderful traits you gained along the way!
Enjoy this new cheetah scarf, if you are in a season of patience, needing some inspiration. This scarf will remind you: Your breakthrough is right around the corner! There is a word that says this on the scarf all about encouraging in the timing. Whatever it is you are waiting for, just know it will surlily happen, it won’t delay. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry. “In its time it WILL happen swiftly.”

Cydney
