First off, friends... I want to wish you all a SUPER HAPPY EXCITING CANADA DAY TODAY!
I am absolutely overjoyed with all the pictures you've been sending me of you rocking your scarves and just sharing the total goodness of happy hearts shining the colors of promise! This is so cool!
Friends, no matter where we are in the world... and especially here in Canada... we must put on our garments of PRAISE this week.
I had the most lovely time speaking this weekend in Surrey, and my main message was all about identity! Oh, it was so fun with over 150 women! I am so humbled and grateful to pour out my heart and story with real women who are hungry for hope and encouragement.
Here's something powerful, I think we can show others today...
That we are genuinely HAPPY.
Does this sound silly?
Has anyone else noticed that not everyone is happy out there? When you radiate true happiness, it's almost dangerous... people can't handle it! So I always make an effort to choose joy.
Have you been happy lately? If not, why?
Just smiling at someone at the grocery store... or pausing to really talk to someone... pour out a little sparkle and BE happy.
It's easier said than done, I understand. Especially when seasons are hard.
But I do believe it is a NEW season, and God is asking us to embrace JOY.
Some of you know me as a wild one... and yup, that's for sure!
Today is Canada Day, and it's a time we get to celebrate the dominion of Canada. We can speak blessings and prayers over her... that she would step into her rightful inheritance. We stand on guard for Canada... that she will forever be the true north, strong and free.
Many Canadians are upset right now. Some have lost hope.
But we must not lose hope!
We know God has BIG plans for our nation... plans filled with hope and a beautiful future!
One of my favorite things to do is dance.
I love to lift up my hands to heaven and express pure adoration through movement to the King! My friend and her kids love to play with me at the beach... this time of year is so magical because we take our scarves and silks and just dance on the sand for miles when the tide is out.
I want to encourage you with this message this week...
As you're filling your heart with thankfulness for the little things... consider dancing. Express yourself in a new way at your Canada Day celebration.
Maybe you're staying home...
Find something that makes your heart sing. Write down three things you're excited about for this new month. Write down and affirm the wonderful things about your identity... the beautiful gifts God put inside of YOU.
Friends, I hope I bring nothing but encouragement to you this week.
