The Secret

I met God early one morning. My day was at its best.

His sweet presence came like sunrise beaming on my chest.

All day long his presence was with me.

Oh, his presence came like sunrise.

My heart was free

With him, I sailed in perfect calmness over a very troubled sea.

Other ships were battered and shaken. Sore and in distress.

But his winds that dove them away brought me great peace and rest.

I thought of other mornings when thoughts attacked my mind…

But when I locked eyes with him, those evil thoughts were left behind.

So, I know the secret. I found the treasure

Sitting with Him is what brings me pleasure.

Let not my heart be strayed

You must seek him in the morning

If you want his presence throughout the day.
